Open Garden Day and West Floral Park Bazaar set for May 17

The West Floral Park Neighborhood Association is proud to present: Open Garden Day and West Floral Park Bazaar on Saturday, May 17, 2014 (10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)

This is an opportunity to view the exquisite gardens of residences in the West Floral Park and Jack Fisher Park neighborhoods located in North Santa Ana. Tour and enjoy gardens, listen to garden experts (these talks are FREE) and visit the West Floral Park Promenade, featuring a Garden Bazaar with artisan items for sale, kids’ gardening center, food trucks, and vintage car collection.

We hope you have time to visit our lovely gardens on the tour. The gardens are the stars of the event; however, there is lots of fun on the West Floral Park Promenade.

We have three garden expert talks & demonstrations on the promenade. These are all free. (You do not have to have a garden tour ticket to attend these.)

11:00 a.m. & 1:00 p.m. “Garden to Table” Demonstration.
Join our WFP foodies Sotera Townsend and Laurie Schaefer as they pick and mix garden herbs and produce to prepare delicious and healthy recipes. 2329 Westwood, Santa Ana, CA.

12:00 Noon “Gardening with California Native Plants”
Join Master Gardener Randy Musser as he introduces you to the garden-worthy California natives. 2326 Westwood. Santa Ana, CA.

2:00 p.m. “Extreme Gardening: How to Grow a 500 Pound Giant Pumpkin”
Join “The Giant Pumpkin Kahuna” Stuart Shim as he teaches you how to grow your own giant pumpkin. 2326 Westwood. Santa Ana, CA. The first 30 participants in the latter talk will receive a free giant pumpkin seedling.

If you wish to take the official tour of the featured home gardens, tickets for that tour are available to be purchased for $15/pp, on the day of the event at 902 W. Riviera Drive, Santa Ana, or can be ordered online at www.westfloralpark.com For more information about the event, contact call 714-836-9777. Hope to see you there!
