OCTA’s 2012 Employees of the Year include Farrell, Vailea and O’Connor

OCTA Awards Employees of the Year

Three individuals receive honors for their hard work and dedication throughout 2012

ORANGE – The Orange County Transportation Authority recognized the employees of the year for coach operator, maintenance and administrative departments. The 2012 Employee of the Year event was held on Jan. 30 at the Green Parrot Villa in Santa Ana. Each of the 36 employees of the month was honored for their exceptional performance and dedication to furthering OCTA’s mission.

At the event, three special individuals were honored as the 2012 Employees of the Year. Each of these employees went above and beyond their duties and demonstrated exceptional skill and professionalism in their daily work.

The 2012 Employees of the Year are Sipriana Farrell, Albert Vailea and Jennifer O’Connor.

Lake Forest resident Sipriana Farrell was named coach operator of the year for her excellent driving record, attention to detail and exceptional customer service. Farrell has worked at OCTA for 23 years and currently works in the Santa Ana bus operations. She has an excellent attendance record and has achieved 22 years of safe driving. Farrell’s dedication to high standards has earned recognition from supervisors and the respect of her peers.

Garden Grove resident Albert Vailea was named maintenance employee of the year for his work as a dayshift safety captain and the base representative for wellness. Vailea has worked at OCTA for 21 years and currently works in the Garden Grove maintenance department. His infectious, positive attitude and dedication to his duties have earned him recognition among his peers. Vailea can always be counted on to perform his tasks quickly and correctly, setting a standard of excellence.

Orange resident Jennifer O’Connor was named administrative employee of the year for excelling in her duties as a marketing program administrator. O’Connor has worked at OCTA for 10 years and currently works in the external affairs division. O’Connor is an exceptional employee and demonstrates the highest level of professionalism and integrity in all of her work promoting bus ridership and helping to coordinate communication with customers.
