NEWS ADVISORY: Officials to Commemorate Opening of OC Loop Link
WHAT: Officials from the Orange County Transportation Authority will be cutting the ribbon to commemorate the completion of a 2-mile segment of the OC Loop along the Coyote Creek biking and walking trail. This segment completion is part of an ongoing effort to create 66 miles of seamless bikeway and pedestrian connections across Orange County. Today, about 70 percent of the OC Loop is already in place and being used daily by thousands of bikers, walkers and runners.

WHY: The OC Loop connects 17 cities, 200 parks and 180 schools in Orange County. Approximately 650,000 residents and 340,000 jobs are within one mile of the path. The county and OCTA are working with cities along the OC Loop to close the remaining gaps. Completion of the 66-mile loop will include constructing two segments along the existing Union Pacific railroad tracks.
