At approximately 4:45 p.m. yesterday the Orange County Fire Authority dispatch was notified of a possible structure fire in the City of Santa Ana.
Multiple phone calls described active flames and smoke coming from the 2 story single family structure.
When the firsts units arrived on the scene they found heavy fire coming from the second floor. A large iron gate made access difficult and the long uphill distance from the hydrant made water supply a challenge.
With an aggressive and coordinated fire attack knockdown was attained in just 18 minutes. No residents were home at the time and no firefighter injuries were reported.
The cause is still under investigation.
Orange City Fire and the OC Sheriff provided assistance at the scene. As the OC Sheriff was involved this fire likely occurred in the unincorporated part of Santa Ana, which is closer to the City of Orange as well.
