On Thursday, February 5th and Friday, February 6th Michelle Steel, Chairwoman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors hosted a town hall with local, state and federal representatives, law enforcement, fire departments and representatives from the Orange County Health Care Agency to discuss actions to take on preventing the spread of COVID-19. The County Health Officer, Dr. Nicole Quick was present to answer questions from representatives on coordination to prevent the spread of the virus.
“I found it necessary to organize this meeting to allow all the stakeholders in Orange County to have an open discussion about how our respective departments can work together to make sure that the safety and health of Orange County residents are protected,” said Chairwoman Steel. “The residents of Orange County have no need to panic, as this is only a preparatory measure. We will continue to work with cities, the state and federal government to take all necessary action that will protect our communities from harm.”
First elected to the Orange County Board of Supervisors in 2014, Michelle Steel represents the residents of the Second District, which includes, Costa Mesa, Cypress, Huntington Beach, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Newport Beach, Seal Beach, Stanton, the unincorporated area of Rossmoor, and portions of Buena Park and Fountain Valley.
