SANTA ANA, Calif. – The second installment deadline for timely payment of secured fiscal year 2023/24 property taxes is Wednesday, April 10. The Orange County Treasurer offers the option to pay electronically via eCheck as a free and convenient option. Taxpayers now also have the option of paying online or in person using Google Pay or Apple Pay if they have set up these digital wallets.
“Pay online by using our secure 24/7 online ‘no cost’ eCheck payment option,” said Orange County Treasurer Shari Freidenrich. “You will receive same-day credit and an electronic receipt which can be emailed or printed. Online payments must be completed by midnight on April 10th to avoid any penalties, so I encourage those who have yet to submit their second installment to utilize this convenient and cost-free payment option.” Taxpayers can scan the QR code on their secured property tax bill to be taken directly to their parcel’s online information, or go to octreasurer.com/octaxbill and input the property’s address or APN number. Once on the website, taxpayers can view and print property tax bills dating back 15 years, view the prior two years of payment history, and view an online statement of their account. While there is no charge for eCheck, taxpayers who pay with a credit or debit card, including through Google Pay and Apple Pay, will be assessed a 2.29% service fee (in person debit card $2.95).
Payments sent via mail must be postmarked on or before April 10th. We recommend getting the envelope hand-cancelled to avoid any late payment penalties, as local post offices may no longer postmark mail. Payments can be made in person using any payment method at the County Service Center located at 601 N. Ross Street in Santa Ana Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p. m, with 30 minutes of free parking in Parking Lot P4 (accessed by traveling South on Broadway). Non-cash payments can be made in the 24/7 depository drop box located on Ross Street. Credit/debit card payments can also be made by IVR over the phone by calling (714) 834-3411 (press ‘1’ three times to be prompted to enter your parcel number) and a 2.29% service fees applies.
