Nighttime 5 Freeway construction starting on April 27

The I-5 Central Corridor HOV Project is scheduled for nighttime construction activity, on Monday, April 27th, from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly through Friday, May 1, 2020. Construction crews will be removing the majority of the remaining concrete median barriers on I-5 between 17th Street and Main Street. For safety reasons, the construction activities can only be done at night and the HOV lanes in this vicinity will continue to be closed.

OCTA and Caltrans construction team are expediting this work as much as feasible while traffic demand is lower due to COVID-19 impacts. Some temporary increased construction noise is unavoidable to complete this work. Should you have questions or issues with the construction please call (800) 724-0353 or e-mail central5fwy@octa.net.

To sign up for construction alerts or for more information, visit www.octa.net/i5Central.

Dates and times are subject to change if there is inclement weather or if there are unforeseen operational factors.
