Nearly 5,000 packed Mile Square Park for O.C.’s Sunset Classic Car Show and Concert

A crowd of nearly 5,000 people packed Mile Square Park on Saturday, September 17, to celebrate the second annual Sunset Classic Car Show and Concert.

“It’s great to bring our community together for an end-of-summer celebration with beautiful classic cars, delicious food, and great music,” said Supervisor Andrew Do, who organized the free community event.

Hosted in collaboration with OC Parks, the event featured a variety of food vendors and a display of classic cars. Attendees had a chance to vote for their favorites – with Rochelle Covarrubias winning with her 1947 Chevy Fleet Line in the “Classic” car category, Rich Hernandez winning with his 1965 Chevy Impala in the “Low Rider” car category, and Bert Cota winning with his 1973 Orange VW Thing in the “People’s Choice” category.

The event also had live musical performances by:

• Skynyrd & Frynds – Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band
• Family Style – Blues, Soul, and Rock & Roll
• No Duh – No Doubt tribute band
• DJ Mike

“We’ll continue to host more community events, like the Sunset Classic Car Show and Concert, which help unite our community and make Orange County a great place to live,” said Supervisor Andrew Do.
