Miniondas Celebrates 40 Years of Publication with a Quiceañera Expo at Bowers Nov. 23

Free Festival Features Fashion Show, Live Mariachis, Music, Prizes and More

(Santa Ana, Calif.) Miniondas, Orange County’s free Latino weekly newspaper, invites the community to a free Quinceañera Expo celebrating its 40 years of continuous publication on Sunday, Nov. 23, from 12 PM – 4 PM at the Bowers Museum. The Bowers is located at 2002 N. Main St. in Santa Ana.

The free Miniondas Quinceañera Expo will feature a fabulous quincea era fashion show, live music, mariachis, DJs, limousines, party bus, cake, photographers, videographers, flowers, invitations, prizes, raffles, an opportunity to win a quinceañera gownand everything needed to plan a memorable event.

Quinceañeras, which celebrate a young lady’s 15th birthday, are important cultural events throughout the Latino community, and observations date back to the time of the Aztecs. Santa Ana is a major center of the quinceañera industry in Southern California.

The Bowers Museum has long been a popular locale for quinceañera photography, and the Bowers and Tangata Restaurant have teamed to offer exciting new Quinceañera Packages, which include a $1,000 introductory discount on facility rental and catering for 2015 bookings.

Miniondas was founded in 1975 and acquired by Cervantes Publishing in 2012, augmenting its coverage to include health, education and home ownership.  With a circulation of 20,000 and a readership of more than 100,000 each week, Miniondasalso publishes the weekly Farandula USA entertainment supplement. The Bowers Museum is located at 2002 N. Main St. in Santa Ana, just one minute from the 5 Freeway at the Main St. South exit in Santa Ana. It is also accessible via OCTA Bus #53 at the 20th St. stop. The Bowers features two ample parking lots located on the north and south of the museum, and street parking is also available. The Bowers Museum offers affordable annual membership that includes: free general admission to the Bowers Museum and Kidseum for an entire year; up to two tickets to a specially-ticketed exhibition; cultural events for members only; and discounts on programs, artistic workshops and purchases in the museum’s Gallery Store. The Family Membership level is only $80 for a limited time, for up to six people, including two adults and four children 18 years old or younger. Children under 12 years old enter the Kidseum and Bowers Museum for free when accompanied by paid adult or an adult who is a member.
