Man arrested after allegedly stabbing two people and kidnapping a woman in Santa Ana

Suspect In Homicide And Kidnap Investigation Arrested

ARRESTED: Teodoro Bernal Nunez (38)

On 6/18/16, at 01:33 hours, SAPD officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1200 block of S. Oak Street, regarding a stabbing. A witness stated a male and female had been stabbed and the female was subsequently kidnapped by the stabbing suspect.

Patrol officers arrived on scene and found a 27 year old male stabbing victim lying on the front lawn of the residence. The victim was unconscious and unresponsive. Medics arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

During the initial investigation Brea Police Department officers observed the suspect vehicle in their city and conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation. The suspect was subsequently detained and the 38 year old female victim was transported to an area hospital with a severe stab wound.

The female victim and the suspect appear to have been in a previous dating relationship, but to what extent is still under investigation. A court order restraining the suspect from contacting the victim, had been issued and was active.

The suspect has been identified 38 year old Teodoro Bernal Nunez. Nunez will be booked for Murder, Attempted Murder, Kidnapping, False Imprisonment, and Violation of a Court Order.
