Leading Assembly candidate Michele Martinez lands big endorsements

While the Disney Company, through the SOAR PAC, has been propping up Tom Daly’s lame campaign for the 69th Assembly District, he is being outworked by his leading opponent – Santa Ana Councilwoman Michele Martinez.  Just look at the endorsements she has racked up thus far:

  • Assemblyman Ben Hueso
  • Assemblyman Roger Hernandez
  • Assemblyman Ricardo Lara
  • Assemblyman Henry Perea
  • Assemblyman Jose Solorio
  • Ret. Senator Martha Escuita
  • Ret. Assemblywoman Cindy Montanez
  • Ret. Assemblyman Alberto Torrico
  • Santa Ana, Mayor Miguel Pulido
  • Santa Ana, Councilmember David Benavides
  • Santa Ana, Councilmember Sal Tinajero
  • Santa Ana, Councilmember, Vince Sarmiento
  • Garden Grove, Councilmember, Dina Nguyen
  • Garden Grove, Former Councilmember, Mark Rosen
  • Brea, Councilmember, Ron Garcia
  • Lake Forest, Councilmember, Kathryn McCullough
  • San Juan Capistrano, Councilmember, Laura Freese
  • Montebello School Board, Gerri Guzman
  • Cudahy, Mayor Josue Barrios
  • El Monte, Councilmember, Joseph Gonzalez
  • Bell Gardens, Sergio Infanzon
  • Southgate, Jorge Morales
  • Hawthorne, Mayor Protem, Alex Vargas
  • Hawthorne, School Board, John Vargas
  • Santa Ana, Planning Commissioner, Eric Adelrete
  • Santa Ana, Planning Commissioner, Patrick Correa
  • Santa Ana, Planning Commissioner, Sean Mill
  • Santa Ana, Housing and Redevelopment Commissioner, Lynnette Verino
  • Santa Ana, Housing and Redevelopment Commissioner, Monica Garcia
  • Santa Ana, Parks and Recreation Commissioner, Ken Nguyen
  • Santa Ana, Parks and Recreation Commissioner, Max Madrid
  • Santa Ana, Youth Chair Commissioner, Jonathan Espinoza
  • Santa Ana, Environmental and Transportation Commissioner, Don Cribb
  • Santa Ana, Environmental and Transportation Commissioner, Kim Olson
  • HOPE, PAC
  • (Partial Listing)
Impressive!  And I hear she has a good shot at landing the endorsement of the California Assembly Latino Caucus.
Martinez notes on her website that “the newly reapportioned Assembly district is extremely diverse- it has a population that is 78.3% Latino, 9.7% Asian and 1.5% African American (2010 Census). ”  All the more reason to elect Martinez, not Daly.

What about the other Democratic candidate?  Well, Julio Perez continues to be unknown in the district and the Disney Company took away his biggest campaign issue when they settled their contract with their hotel workers.  Game over for Perez!

  • Vern,

Like Dan and the boys you see me behind the curtain and in every shadow.

Ironically as you cast your suspicious finger my way it was Art and I that deleted comment after comment posted on the OJ and here that made fun of your incaceration in the state prison after your DUI issues.

The very same folks that feed you lies and cast aspersions about Art and myself were the ones running around town telling everyone about your legal problems and then anonymously posting on blogs trashing you. Yet you choose to throw rocks our way.

That's your problem Vern, you have no sense of loyalty. You are bamboozled by the pack of liars and malcontents that spend their waking hours obsessing over Art and Sean. You are so foolish you don't even realize that you are getting played better than you can play a piano.

Now leave me out of your petty bickering and go back to destroying the OJ.

  • Imagine a process where the voters actually were the ones to describe, not wealthy lawyers from OUTSIDE. Not Union representitives with $$$$$ MOTIVES.

Isn' that how it was supposed to be?

  • Hey guys,
It has been a while. What is with all the fighting going on? I have not been on any website for a long time, and now I see battles with the liberal OC, our former Orange Juice Blog, and now OJ former members. What is going on?
Can we go back to the days of attacking the once famed "Jubal" Those days were fun.

Take care everyone and happy holidays
    Luis Rodriguez

  • Hi Art,
I am doing well. In fact, I am in San Francisco currently as Daniela is getting her 90 day (post transplant) biopsy. I am bored out of mind, so I thought I would surf the net while she watches her favorite shows.
It is unfortunate things have turned to this, not only for you and Sean, but also for the other blogs, because I feel collectively, you would be much more productive in keeping the politicos in Orange County honest. We need people like all of you being advocates for residents in all cities in Orange County. I wish I could still be a part of the political world and attempt to unite some of you who truly have like minds, but seem to have personal beef more than anything.

I will make every effort to stay a bit more connected and chime in once in a while with opinions. Hopefully, I see you all getting along better. Please say hello to Sean, Sal, Michelle, and the other circle of people I consider friends.
    Luis

    • Rest assured my friend that Sean and I didn't want this. But the jealousy of the Lib OC guys, and their incredible pettiness, ruined the OC blogosphere, and they are now allied with the very worst Republicans in Santa Ana. It is simply disgusting.

As for Vern, I thought he would keep the OJ going and was shocked to see it turned into yet another attack vehicle against me, Sean and our City Council. It is beyond sad.

Sean and I will keep fighting for the working families of Santa Ana, as we always have, and for immigrant rights. But there is no way we will ever again be on the same page as the bloggers at the Lib OC and the OJ. That ship has sailed.

I am glad to hear that your daughter is getting the treatment she needs! Thank God. Stay strong my friend.

  • Very funny rendition of things. Check us out, Luis, you know where to find us. Hey, how can you possibly be bored out of your mind in San Francisco?

Hope your daughter does well, stay in touch!

  • "Can we go back to the days of attacking the once famed “Jubal” Those days were fun"....... Hmmmmm

Rodney King asked same question: Why can't we all just get along?

Answer: Because the live would cease and desist if we would.

EVERY LIVING ORGANISM MUST OCCUPY A SPACE AND CONSUME ENERGY OTHER THAN ITS OWN.

That requires killing of other living organism for life to exist. (The Paradox of life)

Maybe some of you may recall my published concept of the circle of life on which OJB "Guy Fawkes" picket up, so hearing from you Luis brings in an overlay of the OJ's beginning and its end.

The circle of the life and realm of magic is closed now.

However, the New OJB circle began, called "MOSH PIT" See http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=mosh%20pit

Good luck and here is my answer Luis!

  • Assuming Luis (someone intelligent) is still reading; it's just so comical Art would say the OJ is anything like the Liberal OC; the only reason is that we have OCCASIONALLY criticized things he's written.

How are we not like the Liberal OC? We have, as we've always had, conservative writers - Willis, Over But Not Out, Eddie Rose, our Fullerton Friends. We've also got people to the left of me and Diamond - Gabriel, Duane Roberts. And many of us are heavily involved in the Occupy movement, which even though Art and Sean loathe it, has been having success after success. (Time Magazine person of the year, hello) Art and Sean hate Occupy, Dan C likes to ridicule it, Chris is polite but not involved. We ARE the Occupy blog of OC.

Hey guys, it was good to see Sal Tinajero along with Al Amezcua and Julio Perez last night at the Planned Parenthood fundraiser (where I played.) No Michele there either. Maybe that vital organization is also too "left wing" for her.

And if "Lap Band Dan" / "Jack Daniels" / "That Was Easy" isn't Sean, like the entire county believes, it's hard to say who it is. The stuff is well-written and cruel but funny (if you think making fun of Beth Krom's son's death, a certain Lib OC blogger's HIV status, and Diamond's Jewish heritage can be funny.) And it comports perfectly with the hatreds and obsessions of Art and Sean. Who else could it be? Art has already admitted to having only one friend in the whole world.

  • "Now I got both of you attacking me anonymously (I think.)"

    Vern,

Again it was Art and I that defended you time and again from scurilous attacks from the very same folks that you take calls from and share emails with.

If I wanted to attack you I would have just let your pals do it anonymously on the blogs and just sit back and watch. But I didn't do that, I had your back. Something you fail to do time and again in regards to Art and I.

You can believe whatever you'd like, but I have no time to engage in petty bickering.

  • The New Santa Ana troll hates:
    Beth Krom
    Jordan Brandman
    Melahat
    Dan & Chris
me, ever since my blog criticized Art
    Diamond
    Occupy.
(and probably more that I'm not remembering.)

Dan C's troll friend (whom he accidentally pretty much admitted was Thomas) hates:
    Art and Sean
    Me
    Guy Fawkes
    Kenlaysnotdead
    Occupy

It is a complex universe. I probably notice it too much.
