  What is the "Unclean Hands doctrine" and how would it apply to our discussion?

  Note: I do know what the "unclean hands" doctrine is and how and where it would be applied. I just want to know if you know -- or what you think you know. A real man would not only now look it up, by the way.

  My sense is that you might as well be yammering about a scabies-infested German grammar school classmate of yours from half a century ago to whom people referred sotto voce as "Unclean Hans."

• It sounds to me like it's Fiala who's making legal threats to Diamond, as laughable as that idea is.

  I don't usually try to figure out anonymous commenters, but whoever you've got here is a special case - he makes fun of Noah Krom's death, he makes jokes about a blogger's AIDs, and much more. And Art (or you) happily approves it all. Sure would be nice to unmask this person, and the list of possibilities doesn't seem big.

    As for Krom's death, it was tragic but what pray tell came of it? He was not the first to die that way. His mom kept on campaigning. She never, as far as I know, did anything to address the issue of college students at that school getting drunk and falling off that cliff. Why is that? If that happened to my son you can bet I would at least try to help other kids to not meet the same end.

    BTW, given your own experience with alcohol, what are you doing to help prevent drunk driving?

    As for AIDS, it is no joking matter to be sure, but the LOC crew finds it funny that Sal Tinajero's dad died when Sal was only a kid, in a tragic shooting. That is not cool either but I don't recall you having issue with that.

    Free speech can get ugly. That is the way it goes Vern. But this tendency on your part and Diamond's to want retribution against commenters is very much what we have come to expect from the LOC crew.
