It was another bloody week in Santa Ana with 31 crimes involving weapons, from January 11 to January 15, 2016, according to CrimeMapping. Nine of these crimes involved “Assaults with a Deadly Weapon” and six were “Disturbing the Peace/Fight” incidents involving weapons.
Here is a complete breakdown of these crimes, including the locations and dates/times:
Disturbingly most of these crimes were not reported by the SAPD and the local media. The police departments in Irvine, Anaheim and Fountain Valley all make their crime logs public as does the OC Sheriff. The SAPD however would rather hide this info, most likely at the behest of the image-conscious Santa Ana City Council.
There were also 19 burglaries in Santa Ana this week as well as 13 DUIs. Click here to see this week’s crime map.
