Hospital association that donated to Nguyen wrote anon CalOptima complaint

From the OC Politics Blog

The CalOptima scandal continues to grow as evidence has arisen that Supervisor Janet Nguyen was in cahoots with a hospital association that turned out to be the “source of anonymous allegations against CalOptima’s former board chairman that were the subject of several articles in the Register last year,” according to the O.C. Register.

That same association went on to hold a $250-a-plate fundraiser for Nguyen at the home of a hospital CEO.

Former CalOptima Chairman Ed Kacic provided a copy of an October 2011 email in which the hospital association CEO, Jim Lott, offered to meet to explain why the Hospital Association was supporting Nguyen’s ordinance change. At their meeting, which took place at the Pacific Club in Newport Beach, Lott told Kacic that the Hospital Association gave significant input to the ordinance change, including providing “draft language” to Nguyen at her request, Kacic said Wednesday.
