Deceased Pedestrian: William Joseph Bailey (47) Homeless

On Tuesday, July 14th, 2015 at 2036 hours, patrol officers along with the Orange County Fire Authority responded to a report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic collision at the intersection of Fairview and Harvard Street.

A male adult pedestrian was located lying on the roadway and was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to critical injuries sustained in the collision.

Based on statements obtained at the scene, the male pedestrian was walking across Fairview Street outside of any crosswalk and within the intersection from west to east at Harvard Street against a red traffic signal. As the pedestrian walked east across the northbound lanes, he was struck by a vehicle northbound on Fairview.
