An unidentified man fled from a pickup truck late Sunday night, after allegedly causing a four-car wreck in Garden Grove that injured two people, according to the O.C. Register.
The man was driving southbound in a 2008 white Chevrolet Silverado at around 11:30 p.m. Sunday at the 13100 block of Magnolia Street when he crashed into a vehicle headed in the same direction, according to the Garden Grove Police.
The truck driver lost control of his vehicle after the impact and ended up hitting two parked vehicles on the west side of the street. A father who had just returned from a trip to the grocery store was in one of the vehicles while his daughter was outside the vehicle, unloading the groceries from the back seat. She was reaching into the back seat when the accident happened, which knocked her away from the car. She broke her hand as a result.
She was probably fortunate as the red Kia Sportage rolled over after the impact, briefly trapping her father in the wreckage. He was freed by Garden Grove Fire Department firefighters. Both she and her father were taken to the Garden Grove Medical Center.
The suspect in the Silverado kept on driving after hitting the parked cars before he crashed into a tree and a wrought-iron gate of an apartment complex. Then he took off on foot and the police have not yet located him.
The Garden Grove Police Department asks that anyone who has information about the driver or witnessed the crash please call them at 714-741-5704. Anonymous information can also be provided to the Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS.
