Santa Ana’s Geisha House restaurant is out of business. Workers are currently remodeling the site for a new restaurant that is moving in – Chipotle Mexican Grill.
Geisha House was busy when they first opened their doors but once they were sold, to a Korean family, the restaurant went downhill fast.
The Chipotle Mexican Grill that is replacing them should do well. The restaurant is located at the CityPlace, across from the MainPlace Mall, off of Memory Lane and Main St., at 2773 N. Main St. The CityPlace features other eateries, including the Corner Bakery, the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Z Pizza, Habit Burger and Pinkberry Yogurt.
According to Chipotle’s Facebook page, “Steve Ells, founder, chairman and co-CEO, started Chipotle with the idea that food served fast did not have to be a typical fast food experience. Today, Chipotle continues to offer a focused menu of burritos, tacos, burrito bowls (a burrito without the tortilla) and salads made from fresh, high-quality raw ingredients, prepared using classic cooking methods and served in a distinctive atmosphere. Through our vision of Food with Integrity, Chipotle is seeking better food not only from using fresh ingredients, but ingredients that are sustainably grown and naturally raised with respect for the animals, the land, and the farmers who produce the food. Chipotle opened its first restaurant in 1993 and currently operates more than 1000 restaurants. For more information, visit chipotle.com.”

Good. Geisha House was Lame. Fing nightclubs with techno music, and expensive drinks and lines to share with Plastic O.C. Hoochie mamas messing with my North Santa Ana. Sick of that chet.
What exactly do you have against Koreans?
I have nothing against Koreans but the Korean family that bought the Geisha House did a poor job running it, particularly with regard to marketing.
It should be noted that Japan was settled by ancient Koreans. But their cultures diverged thereafter.
Japan was settled by ancient Koreans who were great cooks and marketing geniuses.
What exactly is so special about Japanese?
Their cuisine is pretty awesome but my family loves Chipotle too!
"What exactly is so special about Japanese?"........... Hmmmmmmm
You must date one to find out Teo.
However, you should hide the Ginsu knives.
Excited watching this conversion taking place, but a little dumbfounded how that huge 2-story space will only be...another Chipotle. I'm sure they stripped out a lot of the existing (and already paid-for) decor as well, which will be a bummer. Oh well - something open vs. something closed is always a plus for our area.
This is one of those rare examples where something existing was more lame and tasteless than something new coming in.
Geisha House F'ed Up!
Lame us night club shit. Get out!
Burritos are far more interesting than cheap hoochie mamas!
