Free sandbags available from the City of Santa Ana as heavy rain will start tonight

Heavy rain is forecast for Santa Ana and Southern California beginning tonight, Jan. 28.

The City of Santa Ana is offering free sandbags to residents and businesses during rain events. Up to 10 sandbags are available per Santa Ana residence or business location.

The self-service sandbag station location and hours are:

City of Santa Ana Corporate Yard
215 S. Center St., Santa Ana
7 a.m. – 5 p.m. every day (including weekends)

Note – you will be expected to fill your own bags. Bring gloves. The city will provide shovels and the bags you will be filling as well as the sand which is actually dirt. Be sure to wear a face mask. Also the security guard on duty will ask to see your proof of I.D.
