The Shakespeare by the Sea Theater Company is providing the performance. This is the famous story of Macbeth’s ambition to be King of Scotland, after being tempted by the prophecies of three mysterious witches. This leads Macbeth into a nightmarish world of evil, deceit, and murder. Monstrous actions run rampant as he and Lady Macbeth lose themselves to unstoppable drives of savagery and political atrocity.

A story of what happens to people when there is an unrestrained pursuit of power. Shakespeare’s study of ambition leads us from the battlefield where Macbeth is triumphant, to the bloody assassination that gains him the crown but costs him his soul and ultimate demise. Macbeth is one of Shakespeare’s most popular tragedi es along with King Lear, Romeo and Juliet, Othello, Hamlet, and Julius Caesar.

The performance at the Park starts at 7 PM, Thursday, July 27, 2017. The public is encouraged to get there at 6:30 PM to set up their lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a summer evening and are welcomed to picnic under the stars and enjoy a beautiful performance of Macbeth at a great outdoor setting for live theater.
