Four men from L.A. County arrested for stealing cash and property from a car in Irvine

Last week, a man withdrew money from the bank, placed it in his vehicle, and went shopping at a Walmart, according to the Irvine Police Department.

A suspect smashed the victim’s car’s window and took bags containing cash and personal property.

Thankfully, a witness called the Irvine Police Dept. and reported the burglary, and gave updates on where the suspects were.

Irvine police officers caught up to the vehicle and stopped it in Fountain Valley.

Four suspects were arrested and booked at Orange County Jail for burglary and conspiracy:

▪️ Christopher Mark Williams, 26, of Torrance
▪️ Camran Newtt Lorenzo, 23, of Inglewood
▪️ Jailyn Lamuir Blackmon, 18, of Los Angeles
▪️ Arthur Ephraim Brown, 25, of Los Angeles

The Irvine Police Dept. thanked the Fountain Valley Police Department and Orange County Sheriff’s Department, CA, for their assistance at the vehicle stop. They also extended special thanks to the witness for the partnership and help.

This crime is called bank jugging, where thieves surveil banks and watch for customers leaving with cash. The suspects then follow the victim from the bank. Once they park their vehicle, the thief burglarizes it to steal the money. If you withdraw cash, be aware of your surroundings and never leave it unattended in your car.
