On June 1, 2023, Fountain Valley police officers responded to the area of Brookhurst and Talbert regarding an outside agency assist.
While the officers were at the scene they located a juvenile with severe injuries from dog bites. Another male victim was also located with serious injuries from dog bites.
The two victims were immediately transported to local area trauma centers for medical treatment.
Orange County Animal Control was able to capture a vicious pit bull that is believed to have injured the victims. That dog was later euthanized.
On June 6, 2023, Jessica Gallegosparilla, 32-years-old, was arrested for felony child abuse and she was booked into the Orange County Jail.
The OCDA later amended Gallegosparilla’s criminal charges to include mayhem and assault with a deadly weapon.
This remains an open and active investigation. Due to the sensitive nature of this case, no additional information will be released at this time. The Fountain Valley Police Dept. did not identify the two victims.
