Floral Park residents helping Hart to gather Council nomination signatures

John and Ann Coil, Floral Park residents, are hosting a signature gathering and kick-off party for Charles Hart, a Republican who is running for Santa Ana City Council, on Monday, July 16.

Hart is running for Ward 3, which is currently held by Council Member Carlos Bustamante, who was recently arrested after being charged with several felony sex crimes and public theft.  Bustamante is a former Orange County middle manager and Hart is currently an Orange County middle manager.

Hart has apparently just pulled his Council nomination papers, and the Coils are holding a meeting in order to gather the 20 signatures he needs in order to run for the City Council.

The last time a Republican tried to run for the Santa Ana City Council, in 2010, it was an epic fail.  OC GOP Central Committee member Thomas Gordon turned in his nomination signatures but several, including his own, were tossed out, leaving him short of the number he needed in order to run for the City Council.  He was trying to run against Council Member Sal Tinajero.  The City Council has since shifted the ward boundaries and Gordon now lives in the ward held by his ally, Council Member David Benavides.

Hart himself ran for Mayor of Santa Ana, in 2010, garnering only 4,216 votes, according to Smart Voter.  The incumbent, Mayor Miguel Pulido, won with over 21,000 votes and liberal union hack candidate Alfredo Amezcua got almost 12,000 votes.

According to the Coils, Hart is a “bright, informed, highly civic-minded individual and a person of integrity. He will tell you the truth and do the right things for our community.”  If you agree with that contention you can sign his nomination papers on Monday, July 16 from 5 – 7 (Food and drink will be served), at the Coils’ office, located at 2101 N. Main Unit E, in the Palm Court Complex.

Hart’s fellow Republican, Karina Onofre, is running for Ward 5 on the Santa Ana City Council, as previously reported.

  • Before signing anything these people should ask Charlie what he knew about Serrano at the SA Boxing Club and when he knew about it.

  • I think, to avoid further sex embarrassments by the elected and appointed officials to the city government they should produce a certificate that they have been converted to an "eunuch" as traditionally was required.

Probably we should start with Police Chief/ City Manager Paul Walters and Mayor Miguel Pulido before is to late.
