Five shootings were reported in Santa Ana over the weekend

On Friday March 17 at about 9 p.m. SAPD police officers were dispatched to 2200 West First Street regarding a shooting that had just occurred. Upon arrival they located an adult male bleeding from the upper torso lying on the sidewalk. The victim was transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment.

On Friday, March 17 at about 11 p.m., SAPD police officers were dispatched to the area of 2700 West Alton regarding a shooting. This shooting happened right in front of Councilman Sal Tinajero’s gated community.

Five male juveniles were walking in the area when confronted by a male suspect. A verbal confrontation occurred and the suspect fired a handgun at the 5 juveniles as they ran away, according to SAPD Case # 17-07268.

On Friday, March 17 at about 11:45 p.m. a male adult exited the Santa Ana Food 4 Less and was confronted by an armed suspect at his vehicle. The suspect demanded money and when the victim refused the suspect shot into his vehicle multiple times. The victim was not hit according to SAPD Case #17-07266.

On Sunday, March 19, at about midnight a male adult was escorted out of Original Mike’s Restaurant for being unruly. As the subject drove away he pointed a handgun at security and fired multiple rounds into the air as he drove away, according to SAPD Case # 17-07360.

On Sunday, March 19 at about 2 a.m. SAPD police officers responded to 318 S. Lyon to a report of a shooting. The victim reported hearing a shooting at about 2 AM and later in the morning when he went outside he saw his vehicle had a shattered window and a bullet hole in another window, according to SAPD Case # 17-07393.
