Santa Ana, Calif. — The Orange County Board of Supervisors and the Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs (OIRA) are excited to host the first in-person meeting of the OC Good Neighbor Task Force, which aims to create a more fluid and responsive system of welcome and integration for immigrant and refugee families who call Orange County home.
A formalization of the partnerships between the County and community that began with the fall of Kabul, the Task Force aims to serve the most vulnerable people experiencing displacement.
OIRA serves as the bridge connecting immigrants and refugees to those services and resources available through County departments and community-based organizations.
Board of Supervisors Vice Chairman Doug Chaffee, Fourth District, Supervisor Andrew Do, First District, and Supervisor Vicente Sarmiento, Second District, will kick off the event with a presentation of awards to community members who have displayed kindness, compassion and welcome.
OIRA Director Jose Serrano will give a short presentation highlighting the Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs.
