Downtown Inc.’s first Summer Concert brought a crowd to Santa Ana’s East End

Downtown Inc’s Summer Concert Series launched on Friday, July 22, from 5 pm to 9 pm, at the plaza located at French and Fourth Streets, in Downtown Santa Ana’s East End.  The event drew a diverse crowd and featured beer and wine sales as well as snacks and offerings from local vendors.

Admission was free and all ages were welcome.

This series features 10 weeks of Friday night concerts with over 48 different music and entertainment groups.

Free entertainment on July 22 included:

  • Zumba Loop with Josue Meneses
  • The Moan
  • The Relative Strangers
  • The Inkblots

I had a chance to watch the Inkblots as they closed out the evening.  They were very good!  Kudos to promoter Archer Altstaetter and Downtown Inc.’s Vicky Baxter and her staff for doing such a great job with this event.

The only sour note was that most of the local businesses on the East End closed early and lost out on a chance to meet new customers.

Free entertainment on July 29 will include:

  • Guy James and the Brothers
  • The Budrows
  • The Bellhaunts

Check out www.acropolisrpm.com for some of the bands to come!
