(August 15, 2024) – A 51-year-old man was found deceased along the Santa Ana River Trail, according to the SAPD.
On Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at 4:38 p.m., the Santa Ana Police Department received a report from the Orange County Fire Authority about a deceased body found in the dirt landscaped area near 2100 W. 17th Street.
Patrol officers began the initial investigation as a suspicious death with the assistance of the Orange County Coroner’s Office.
The decedent had visible injuries believed to have been caused by blunt force trauma consistent with a potential traffic collision.
The Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
The Orange County Coroner’s Office identified the decedent as 51-year-old Raul Beltran of Santa Ana, and the cause of his death remains under investigation.
