HOMICIDE ARREST UPDATE: Yesterday evening, Oct. 22, 2024, police officers arrested Daniel Allen Aldrich, 49, Costa Mesa, at the home of a family member located at the 3700 block of El Lado Drive in Glendale for the murder of his girlfriend, Julie Anne Sanetra, 38, Irvine, according to the Costa Mesa Police Department.
The victim had been found in a trash can at the arrestee’s house at the 1900 block of Maple Avenue, Costa Mesa.
At the start of the investigation, Aldrich was identified as the suspect and located in Glendale. The Glendale Police Department assisted with the arrest, and Costa Mesa detectives subsequently took Aldrich into custody.
Detectives were able to establish that the arrestee and the victim were in a relationship. The case will be submitted to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.
