Congresswoman Sanchez’ foreclosure prevention workshop set for 2/21

Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez is hosting a Home Foreclosure Prevention Workshop on: Thursday, February 21, 2013, from 4:00 pm-7:30 pm at the Delhi Community Center, located at 505 E. Central Ave., in Santa Ana.

This free workshop will provide homeowners with essential tools to avoid foreclosure. Knowledgeable lenders and helpful Housing and Urban Development (HUD)-approved housing counselors will be in attendance to answer questions and discuss the numerous programs that are available to assist homeowners.

Americans across the United States have been hit by record high unemployment and foreclosures rates. Current estimates indicate that over 43,000 homes in California are being foreclosed. More than 4,000 of these are from the cities of Santa Ana, Garden Grove and Anaheim. Sanchez has been working hard in Washington to preserve and sustain programs that help families stay in their homes. She recently authored a letter to the Speaker of the House, urging him to sustain funding to NeighborWorks, a nonprofit organization that last year provided foreclosure prevention services to more than 36,000 residents in California alone.

Homeownership helps to create stronger, more vibrant communities. If you would like to attend this important workshop, please RSVP by contacting Sanchez staff member Carlos Urquiza at (714) 621-0304.
