City’s loaded survey results to be reviewed at public workshops at union halls

Now that the Santa Ana City Council is done conducting their loaded community survey, which reportedly faltered online forcing them to conduct “numerous community meetings” in order to get any answers at all, they are ready to conduct yet another public meeting – a Strategic Planning Community Workshop (that I am sure will barely be attended).

According to a city press release, at this meeting, “staff will inform attendees about the community survey results, solicit additional feedback, and will provide an update on the remainder of the process.”

This one-day workshop will take place at two separate locations:

  • Saturday, November 23, 2013, from 9:00 am to 11:00am at the UA Plumbers Union 582, located at 3904 W. 1st Street, in  Santa Ana.
  • 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Laborers Union 652, located at 1523 E. Chestnut Avenue, in Santa Ana.

The fact that these “public” meetings are being held at union halls should speak for itself.

I cannot imagine who would want to blow a Saturday in this fashion!  This will be a cattle call for the special interests, like the unions, that our lame City Council caters to.

What exactly is the point of all this?  How much money did the City blow on these surveys and meetings?  If our Council has no idea what they are doing shouldn’t they resign and let someone else have a try?
