Signalling systems and crossing gates can fail. When approaching the crossing west bound on Santa Clara, there is no way to see an approaching train. I suggest you consider installation of mirrors that would allow a driver to see up and down the tracks.
I would be happy to have the train horns silenced or at least a reduction of the extent of the signalling late at night.
