Carpetbagging 46th CD candidate Nick caught stealing signs in Lake Forest

A couple of nights ago, a deputy spotted a black Ford sedan in a no-parking zone near Bake Parkway and Trabuco Road and saw a man with campaign signs climb into the passenger seat. The driver was Lake Forest Mayor Pro Tem Adam Nick, according to the Sheriff’s Department, and in the car were 10 campaign signs belonging to Scott Voigts, a fellow councilman seeking re-election, according to the OC Register.

Calling the incident, at 2 a.m. Thursday, a misunderstanding, Nick said Friday he had taken Voigts’ signs to move them to a better location, though he had not asked his permission to do so. “They’re making something out of nothing,” Nick said.

The crazy thing about this episode is that Nick isn’t even running for reelection to the Lake Forest City Council.  Instead he is running for the 46th Congressional District, as the Republican nominee against the incumbent, U.S. Representative Loretta Sanchez, who represents the cities of Anaheim, Santa Ana and Garden Grove.  Lake Forest is miles away from this district!

While it is legal for Nick to run as a carpetbagger for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, his wife Sherry Walker is also running as a carpetbagger, for the 69th Assembly District which overlaps the 46th Congressional District.

As we reported earlier, Walker and Nick are Iranians who changed their names before they ran for public office.  We dug up their real identities in a previous post.  Nick’s real name is Afshin Nikmanesh.  His wife changed her name, from Shehrzad Rahgozar to Sherry Walker on March 5, 2014.  She started the name change process on January 16, 2014.

While Nick and Walker are running as Republicans, their voter registration history is pathetic. Nick wasn’t even registered to vote from 2004-2008, according to the Orange County Registrar of Voters, and he wasn’t even in a U.S. county! Where the heck was this guy? From 2008 to 2011 he didn’t belong to any political party. He only became a registered Republican in 2011.

As for Walker’s voter registration history, she was registered Decline to State from 2004 to March 4, 2014, presumably under her real name of Rahgozar.  Then she became a Republican and registered to run for the State Assembly. And her only campaign contributor has been her husband, Nick, according to the California Secretary of State.

Nick owns a gas station and actually sued his own city in a fit because the city granted an alcohol license to a 7-11 but Nick wanted to monopolize alcohol sales in his area.  What sort of Councilman sues his own city – forcing taxpayers to waste money in the legal defense process?

If you look at Nick’s LinkedIn page you will find nothing.  It is a blank entry.  And have a look at his city bio.  Empty as well.  His Facebook Politician page is empty too.  As for Walker she has no Facebook page.  Barely anything comes up when you search for information about her.  Both Walker and Nick are running for legislative seats but have no campaign websites!

And guess what?  While Nick and Walker are running as Republicans their voter registration history is pathetic.

As for Walker’s voter registration history, she was registered Decline to State from 2004 to March 4, 2014.  Now she is suddenly a Republican.  And her only campaign contributor is her husband, Nick, according to the California Secretary of State.

The Register also reported that since taking office, Nick, an accountant, has been a vocal proponent of campaign signs. “I firmly believe campaign signs help level the playing field,” he said on May 20.

By the way, the woman who helped collect nomination signatures for Lake Forest carpetbagger Sherry Walker, Farzaneh Akhavi, 55, aka Frances Akhavi, has been  indicted on charges of bank fraud, wire fraud, aggravated identity theft and money laundering, by a grand jury in Phoenix, Arizona, according to the East Valley Tribune.  Click here for details.

The Republican that Walker beat in this year’s June Primary Election, Cecilia Iglesias, has filed a complaint with Secretary of State Debra Bowen’s Election Fraud Investigation Unit, alleging that Walker violated residency requirements and conspired to deceive voters who live in Santa Ana and parts of Anaheim, Garden Grove and Orange.

Nick also proposed allowing more campaign signs in town and penalties for people who take, alter or deface them. The new regulations were approved unanimously, increasing the number of signs allowed on private property and allowing for the first time signs in the public right of way. Removal of campaign signs became a crime prosecutable as a theft and punishable as a misdemeanor or infraction.

Nick’s fellow Councilman Dwight Robinson is calling on Nick to resign.  Good call.  Nick should resign and the voters in the 46th Congressional District should not waste their votes on him.
