On July 5, 2022, at approximately 9PM, Santa Ana Police Officers responded to the 300 block of South Harbor after a woman reported she was kidnapped and raped.
The victim, a 23-year-old woman, told police she was walking home when a male suspect approached and began speaking to her. He asked the victim to hang out; she refused and walked away. The suspect then followed the victim, knocked her down, dragged her behind a business, where he sexually assaulted her. The suspect then fled the scene and the victim called police.
Detectives from the Special Crimes Section conducted follow-up and through investigative leads, identified the suspect as Ignacio Segura Lemus (57) of Santa Ana.
Today, December 21, 2023, detectives arrested Lemus and booked him at the Orange County Jail on several sexual assault-related charges. His bail was set at $1,000,000.00.
SAPD detectives believe Lemus may have assaulted additional victims. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective M. Thomas at 714-245-3524, mthomas@santa-ana.org or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS.
