Barnes & Noble is opening a new store in Tustin on Oct. 18

Barnes & Noble is thrilled to announce the opening of its new Tustin bookstore on Wednesday, October 18th. The new Barnes & Noble is just down the road from their former location, moving into The District at Tustin Legacy, at 2857 Park Ave, Suite M0004, Tustin, in the former Aki Furniture building next to Whole Foods.

The bookstore will officially open to the public at 10AM ET on Wednesday the 18th, with author Charles Yu cutting the ribbon and signing copies of his book Interior Chinatown. The new location showcases the highly lauded bookstore design seen in the most recent Barnes & Noble store openings, housing all the best books, toys, games and gifts that customers have come to expect from the nation’s premier bookseller.

“We couldn’t be happier to have relocated so near to our former Tustin location,” said James Daunt, CEO, Barnes & Noble. “The investment in such a large new bookstore is substantial and gives us the opportunity to showcase our stunning new design. It is very exciting that Barnes & Noble is now able to make this level of commitment as we revitalize our store presence. We have an optimistic eye toward the future as we continue to open new bookstores across the country.”

Barnes & Noble is enjoying a period of tremendous growth as the strategy to hand control of each bookstore to its manager has proven so successful. The bookseller is enjoying exceptionally strong sales in its existing stores and has been opening many new stores after over 15 years of declining store numbers. In 2022, Barnes & Noble opened more new bookstores in a single year than it had in the whole decade from 2009 to 2019. The bookseller expects to open over 30 new bookstores in 2023.

The new Tustin store is one of two new California Barnes & Noble bookstores opening on the 18th alongside the new location in Marina del Rey, and the third opening so far this October following the much celebrated store opening in Burlingame the week prior.

“As a longtime Barnes & Noble bookseller, seeing so many new bookstores open at such a pace has been a thrill, and opening our new Tustin store even more so,” said Store Manager Johnny Noonan, Barnes & Noble bookseller of 24 years. “Curating our new bookstore with our community in mind was an enormous undertaking, but one that our experienced team was happy to take on. The booksellers here in Tustin are beyond excited to welcome you into our spacious new bookstore.”
