ANAHEIM, Calif. (February 22, 2024) – Anaheim Police Department Sexual Assault Detectives have arrested German Reyes Ramos, a 46-year-old Anaheim man, after investigating the report of an attempted kidnapping of a 12-year-old boy, according to the Anaheim Police Department.
On February 13, 2024, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Officers responded to the 2900 block of W. Orange St. regarding a possible attempted kidnapping. Officers discovered a man driving a tan SUV approached the 12-year-old victim and attempted to lure him into his vehicle by asking the victim if he needed a ride. The suspect was holding a bundle of money when he tried to lure the victim to his vehicle. The victim eluded the suspect and called 9-1-1 to report the incident.
Sexual Assault Detectives and personnel from Anaheim PD’s newly formed Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC) immediately began investigating the incident. Personnel from the RTCC leveraged technology and assisted Detectives with identifying German Reyes Ramos as the suspect responsible for the incident.
On February 20, 2024, Anaheim PD Investigators located and arrested Reyes Ramos in Anaheim without incident. Reyes Ramos was booked into the Anaheim Police Department Temporary Detention Facility for PC 288.3(a) – Contacting a Minor for Felonious Purposes. Reyes Ramos remains in custody and is being held in lieu of $300,000 bail.
Reyes Ramos was driving a tan 2002 Dodge Durango when he was arrested. Detectives believe Reyes Ramos drove the same vehicle when he attempted to contact the victim on February 13, 2024. Detectives believe Reyes Ramos has contacted or attempted to contact other juvenile victims in Anaheim and are releasing pictures of his vehicle in hopes of locating additional victims or witnesses of similar incidents.
Reyes Ramos is described as a Hispanic male adult, who is 5’07” tall, and 200 pounds.
Detectives are not releasing Reyes Ramos’ booking photograph and are not disclosing any additional details at this time because the investigation is ongoing.
