An Orange County jail inmate somehow got his hands on civilian clothing and then tried to escape from the Central Men’s Jail in Santa Ana on Tuesday, Feb. 28, however his plan was foiled, according to the OC Sheriff.
The suspect got into a “control area” of the jail, where visitors enter and exit, at about 6 or 7 a.m. on Tuesday. But deputies then recognized the inmate, and returned him to the area he was being housed.
The deputies then conducted a full count of inmates at the Men’s Central Jail and the Intake Release Center and they found that everyone had been accounted for.
