Actress born in Santa Ana heading to the OC Hall of Fame along with Pres. Richard Nixon and others

A famous former resident of Santa Ana is part of the newly accounced second class of the Orange County Hall of Fame. That would be actress Michelle Pfeiffer.

Pfeiffer was born in Santa Ana, California to her parents, Dick and Donna Pfeiffer. Pfeiffer has an older brother and two younger sisters – Dedee Pfeiffer, and Lori Pfeiffer. Both of them also tried in acting and modeling but moved on to other careers.

Pfeiffer graduated from Fountain Valley High School in 1976, and studied to court reportering for one year at Golden West College. While Pfeiffer was working as a supermarket checker at a Vons supermarket she realized she was meant to be an actress instead, according to IMDB.

Pfeiffer made her screen début in 1980, but first garnered mainstream attention with her appearance in Scarface. She rose to prominence during the late 1980s and early 1990s, during which time she gave a series of critically-acclaimed performances in the films Dangerous LiaisonsMarried to the MobThe Fabulous Baker BoysThe Russia HouseFrankie and JohnnyLove Field, and The Age of Innocence, as well as appearing as Catwoman, the feline anti-heroine of Batman Returns, according to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Pfeiffer won a Golden Globe for her role in 1989’s “The Famous Baker Boys,” and has been nominated for three Academy Awards, according to KTLA.

The others who will also be inducted into the Orange County Hall of Fame include disgraced former President Richard Nixon, who was born in Yorba Linda and resided for a time in San Clemente; Sylvia Mendez, a notable civil rights activist who was part of a famous court case that desegregated California schools; Carl Karcher, the founder of Carl’s Jr.; Wing Lam and the Lee family famed for opening and expanding Wahoo’s Fish Taco restaurants; Leo Fender, who invented the electric guitar; founder; William Steiner, who on the Orange City Council, Orange Planning Commission, Orange Unified School District Board of Education, and Orange County Board of Supervisors; Nick Berardino, a retired Orange County labor leader, U.S. Marine Corps veteran and chairman of VALOR; Ed Paul,  a community leader who for years with the American Veterans Memorial Association has helped honor service with a Memorial Day ceremony in Fullerton and Charlie Zang, founder of Pick Up Stix and a philanthropist.
