A woman was critically injured after crashing into a tractor-trailer in north Orange County

On Thursday, April 4, 2024, at approximately 4:19 AM, Fullerton Police Officers were dispatched to the area of S. State College Blvd. and E. Walnut Ave. regarding a traffic collision involving a black vehicle and a tractor-trailer.

Upon arrival, Officers located a black Honda Civic underneath the rear of a tractor-trailer. The driver and sole occupant of the Honda Civic was still in the driver’s seat. The Fullerton Fire Department responded, extricated the female, and began life-saving measures before transporting her to a local trauma hospital.

The female adult driver is currently listed in critical condition.

Preliminary investigation indicates the tractor-trailer combination was traveling northbound on S. State College Blvd., and in the process of making a left turn onto Walnut Ave. when the Honda Civic collided with the side of the tractor-trailer.

The 52-year-old driver of the semi-truck remained on scene and is cooperating with Investigators.
At this time, it is unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a factor in the cause of the collision.

Accident Investigators are seeking further information from anyone who might have witnessed this collision.
