While many of us are getting ready to fill out our absentee ballots, the violence continues unabated in Santa Ana. This afternoon a man was shot twice in his upper chest, but he survived by hopping over a nearby wall, escaping from the shooter, according to the O.C. Register.
How did the victim jump over a five foot wall? According to the SAPD it was pure adrenaline that saved the man’s life. He is now recovering at a local hospital and he is expected survive.
This incident began just after 4 p.m. at the 600 block of Sullivan. The victim was walking on the sidewalk when a man drove up to him and began an altercation – that escalated into a shooting. It sounds to us like the usual “where you from” garbage that happens way too often in our city.
The police however would only say that this shooting was “possibly gang-related.”
The name and age of the victim was not provided to the media by the SAPD. And as is usually the case in our city the victim refused to cooperate with the police. In fact he gave them two different names.
A witness who saw the shooting was able to give the police more details about what transpired. In fact the police feel that they have a pretty good lead. Hopefully the shooter will be found and arrested!
