What would you do if your son was such an awful person that you had no choice but to call the police?
The Ojeda family had to deal with exactly that situation this week when they called the SAPD to report that their son, Giovanni Santos Ojeda, 31-years-old, was threatening and abusing his parents, according to the O.C. Register.
Ojeda, an ex-con, has been charged with with multiple felonies including two counts of inflicting injury on an elder adult, three counts each of making criminal threats and possession of a firearm by a felon, and one count of a prohibited person owning ammunition.
Ojeda, a handyman, is currently in custody in lieu of $50K bail – which I am pretty sure his family is not going to post. He is set for a March 7 pretrial hearing at the Central Justice Center.
Ojeda, whose occupation is listed as handyman in jail records, was in custody in lieu of $50,000 bail pending a March 7 pretrial hearing at the Central Justice Center.
Ojeda’s family had no choice but to report him to the SAPD on Sunday after they had put up with “verbal, physical, financial and psychological abuse over a long period of time,” according to the SAPD.
Ojeda’s awful behavior allegedly included pointing weapons at his mother and telling her that he wished she was dead so he could kill people and police and then himself.
Even as his parents were reporting him to the SAPD, Ojeda was calling them to try to find out where they were.
The SAPD police officers on the case ended up fooling Ojeda by arranging for him to meet with his parents – but police officers showed up instead of his mom and dad.
Sure enough when Ojeda showed up he had with him an assault rifle and two handguns.
And when the SAPD served a search warrant on Ojeda’s home they found that he had set up a surveillance system and he had thousands of rounds of ammunition.

So, an ex-con has at least one assault rifle and two handguns in violation of current law. And anti-2Aers want more gun laws? Enforce the ones already on the books and we wouldn't have the shootings we do. Kudos to the parents for having the courage to turn him in.
