A reminder that only safe and sane fireworks are allowed in the City of Santa Ana on the 4th of July

Community: Only “Safe and Sane” Fireworks are Permitted in the City of Santa Ana / Solo Se Permite “Safe and Sane” Fuegos Artificiales

SANTA ANA, CA – As Independence Day approaches, we would like to remind our community that only fireworks bearing the “Safe and Sane” seal are permitted to be used within the City limits, during the following days and hours only:

• Saturday, July 1, 2017 – 12:00 pm (noon) to 10:00 pm
• Sunday, July 2, 2017 – 10:00 am to 10:00 pm
• Monday, July 3, 2017 – 10:00 am to 10:00 pm
• Tuesday, July 4, 2017 – 10:00 am to 9:00 pm

The use of illegal fireworks may contribute to serious injuries and fires in our community. As a measure to combat the use of illegal fireworks, the Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD) will aggressively patrol neighborhoods and issue fines to those who are using illegal fireworks. The fine for use of illegal fireworks is up to $1,000 for the first offense, along with a maximum penalty of up to one year in jail. Community members can anonymously report the use of illegal fireworks at (714) 245-8771.

The community is invited to attend the City of Santa Ana’s 7th annual Fourth of July Celebration on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 from 4:00pm to 9:30pm at Centennial Park. For more information, please visit www.santa-ana.org/parks/upcomingevents/default.asp.

Solo Se Permite “Safe and Sane” Fuegos Artificiales en La Ciudad de Santa Ana

Al acercarse al Día de la Independencia del EE.UU., La Ciudad de Santa Ana les recuerda que sólo los fuegos artificiales que llevan el sello “Seguro y Sano” (“Safe and Sane”) están autorizados para uso dentro de los límites de la ciudad y solo durante los siguientes días y horas:

• sábado, 1 de julio de 2017 – 12:00pm (mediodía) a 10:00pm
• domingo, 2 de julio de 2017 – 10:00am a 10:00pm
• lunes, 3 de julio de 2017 – 10:00am a 10:00pm
• martes, 4 de julio de 2017 – 10:00am a 9:00pm

El uso de fuegos artificial es ilegales puede contribuir a lesiones graves e incendios en nuestra comunidad. Como una medida para combatir el uso de fuegos artificiales ilegales, el Departamento de Policía de Santa Ana dará atención especial a patrullar los vecindarios y dar multas. La multa por el uso de fuegos artificiales ilegales es de hasta $ 1,000 para la primera ofensa, junto con una pena máxima de hasta un año en la cárcel. Miembros de la comunidad pueden reportar el uso de fuegos artificiales ilegales de forma anónima llamando al 714-245-8771.
