A prostitute was picked up in Santa Ana then shot and wounded in Garden Grove

An unidentified 23-year-old woman from Victorville was shot in her left hip on Wednesday night, near West Washington Ave. and Bewley St., where she was working as a prostitute, according to the O.C. Register.

SAPD investigators spoke to the victim at a local hospital, where a friend took her for treatment, after 10:45 p.m., according to the SAPD.

The victim told the police that a man had stopped his vehicle that evening near where she was walking. She entered the vehicle and gave him instructions to drive to Seaboard Circle in Garden Grove. Then things took a dark turn as the man suddenly began to choke the woman, after they had parked. Sometime during that assault the man shot her.

Miraculously the woman managed to escape from the vehicle and from her attacker, who left the area. The victim’s wounds are said to be non life threatening.

The suspect was described as a stocky Hispanic man in his late 20s or early 30s with a light complexion, and short black hair with a fade. He had a heavy accent. He was last seen wearing a white, collared short sleeved shirt, similar to a uniform shirt, and dark brown or beige work pants.

The suspect’s vehicle was described as a black or dark green older model Honda 4-door with dark colored cloth seats.

Anybody with information about this incident can call The Garden Grove Police Department at 714-741-5704. Anyone wishing to report information and remain anonymous can call Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS (855-847-6227).
