Case # 17CF1135

FONTANA MAN SENTENCED TO EIGHT YEARS IN PRISON FOR TRAFFICKING MINOR FROM SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY AND PIMPING VICTIM IN SANTA ANA

SANTA ANA, Calif. – A Fontana man was sentenced to eight years in state prison today for trafficking a minor girl from San Bernardino County and pimping the victim in Santa Ana.

Defendant: Armani Montrale Green, 21, Fontana

Found guilty by a jury on Nov. 21, 2017, of one felony count each of:

  • Human trafficking of a minor
  • Pimping a minor
  • Pandering a minor

Sentence:

  • Eight years in state prison
  • Mandatory lifetime sex offender registration

Circumstances of the Case

Green is a human trafficker/pimp who exploits women and/or children for financial gain. Pimps often establish rigid rules their victims are expected to follow including requiring victims to speak only when spoken to, address the pimp as “Sir” or “Daddy,” assigning seats in the car based on “rank,” and setting daily quotas that the victims are expected to fulfill. The victims are often required to turn over all payments they receive for sex acts from sex purchasers to their pimp. Failure to follow these rules can result in deprivation of food and/or physical and/or emotional abuse.

  • Between May 3, 2017, and May 5, 2017, Green trafficked 17-year-old Jane Doe to areas of Orange County known for prostitution.
  • On May 5, 2017, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD) officers contacted Jane Doe on a street just east of Harbor Boulevard.
  • Green demanded the victim earn at least $300 before he would pick her up that night.
  • SAPD located and arrested Green at approximately 1:30 a.m. on May 6, 2017.
  • At the time of his arrest, the defendant possessed $324 in cash and Jane Doe’s personal belongings, including identification cards.

At the sentencing today, community members of the OCHTTF were present in court to support the victim, including BACA, Faith Based Council, Jim Carson, Refuge, Unbound, Wayfinders, and church members.

Members of the OCHTTF and the Orange County District Attorney’s (OCDA) Office work proactively to protect women and minors from falling victim to commercial sexual exploitation. This case was investigated by OCHTTF, a partnership between Anaheim Police Department, California Highway Patrol, Costa Mesa Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Irvine Police Department, Newport Beach Police Department, OCDA, Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Santa Ana Police Department, and community and non-profit partners.
