On Saturday, April 20, 2024, at approximately 10:05 p.m., the Santa Ana Police Department received multiple calls regarding a pedestrian down in traffic lanes in the area of 2100 N. Bristol Street. Officers, along with the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA), responded to the scene and located an adult male within the roadway next to a vehicle.
Despite lifesaving efforts, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by OCFA.
Based on the preliminary investigation, it is believed the pedestrian was walking westbound across the northbound lanes of Bristol St. when he was struck by the vehicle, which was traveling northbound on Bristol St.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
At this time, alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
