WESTMINSTER, Calif. – On Saturday, December 23, 2023, at approximately 4:43 AM, police officers responded to Bishop Street west of Brookhurst Street in reference to a report of a possible hit-and-run traffic collision, according to the Westminster Police Department.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered an unidentified male subject laying in the street with injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle.
The Orange County Fire Authority responded and pronounced the subject deceased on the scene.
Officers located a possible witness nearby who confirmed the male had been struck by a single vehicle, which immediately fled the scene. The witness described the vehicle as a small dark-colored sedan that was last seen driving westbound on Bishop Street at Belgrade.
Members of the Westminster Police Department’s Traffic Division responded to the scene and are canvassing the area for video or witnesses that may assist in identifying the suspect vehicle and driver.
The Traffic Division of the Westminster Police Department is continuing to investigate the cause of the collision.
