A DUI driver was arrested after causing havoc in Orange

On Friday night, a suspected DUI driver caused havoc and destruction in Orange.

At approximately 9:20 pm, a truck exited the driveway of a Taco Bell, drove across the street and collided into the northwest curb at Walnut Ave. and Tustin St.

Officers arrived and attempted to contact the driver when he suddenly reversed and fled west onto Walnut Ave. Officers pursued after the fleeing suspect.

As the truck fled west, it drove up a driveway in the 1100 block of east Walnut, collided into a tree and a parked vehicle.

The truck continued through the driveway across Maplewood Street, collided into two more parked vehicles in another driveway, and then into a brick wall.

The truck was disabled and the driver was trapped inside. Orange City Fire arrived on scene and extracted the driver from the truck.

The driver was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries. While at the hospital, officers conducted a DUI investigation and the suspect was determined to be under the influence of narcotics.

The driver was arrested for DUI, Hit & Run, Evading, Resisting Arrest and booked into OCJ.
