Yesterday at 4:26 a.m., the Irvine Police Department (IPD) and Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) responded to reports of a single-vehicle traffic collision near the intersection of Barranca Parkway and Vertical.
The initial investigation shows the man was driving a maroon Lexus sedan eastbound on Barranca Parkway from Vertical when he lost control of the vehicle.
The Lexus collided with three trees, a pole, and a fire hydrant before impacting with a fourth tree and stopping. OCFA personnel pronounced the man deceased at the scene. The driver has been identified as Tristan Thai Ngo, 20, of Lake Forest.
IPD’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating the cause of this collision. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Joshua Balos at 949-724-7024.
