Week Two of the 2012 OC Fair Offers Extreme Pogo, Dodgeball, Celebrity Chef Robert Irvine and Girl Scouts Anniversary Celebration
Costa Mesa, Calif. (July 24, 2012) – The 2012 OC Fair will continue offering a summer variety of fun, food and family as it goes into its second week of events. The Food Network’s Robert Irvine will offer a dynamic culinary demonstration for free in The Hangar on July 26 at 1 p.m., while amateur foodies get hot and spicy at the Special Culinary Arts Competition featuring Chili, Wings and Salsa on Saturday, July 28 (Register by Wednesday, July 25). Plus, the Girl Scouts invite Fairgoers to celebrate the organization’s 100th anniversary on July 27 with a full day of activities and entertainment. The Fair is open Wednesday through Sunday and closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Wednesday, July 25 (Open Noon-Midnight)

- Wild Child – A Jim Morrison Celebration in The Hangar (8:30 p.m.)
- ASA BMX Big-Air Triples in the Action Sports Arena (8 p.m.)
- We Care Wednesday Children’s Book Drive – free admission and one carnival ride with donation of one (1) new children’s book or three (3) gently-used children’s books (Noon-4 p.m.)

Thursday, July 26 (Open Noon-Midnight)
- Hot Chelle Rae/Allstar Weekend in the Pacific Amphitheatre (7:45 p.m.)
- No Duh – The Ultimate No Doubt/Gwen Stefani Concert Tribute Experience in The Hangar (8:30 p.m.)
- ASA BMX Big-Air Triples in the Action Sports Arena (8 p.m.)
- Kids Day – Children 12 and younger are free all day
- OC Fair Celebrity Chef Robert Irvine in The Hangar. Free with Fair admission (1 p.m.)
- Food Truck Fare at the 2012 OC Fair – Grub on gourmet food truck fare from Noon-10 p.m. inside the Fair. Access is free with Fair admission. Food prices vary per truck.
- Barnyard Fashion Parade in the Livestock Show Ring at 6 p.m. Watch costumed youth and their barnyard buddies on parade. Free with Fair admission.
- OC Fair Chowdown: Food Truck vs. Food Truck (5 p.m.)
- Pogopalooza: World Record Day in Fair Square – Witness extreme pogo athletes attempt to make history live at the Fair (1-4 p.m.). Free with Fair admission.

$2 Rides & Games (Until 4 p.m.) - Girls Scouts Rock the Fair – Join local Girl Scout troops as they celebrate the organization’s 100th anniversary.

- Jumping Jack Flash – Celebrating The Stones’ 50th Anniversary with Special Guests in The Hangar (8:30 p.m.)
- Ultimate Dodgeball Championships in the Action Sports Arena (6 p.m.)
- Rise & Shine – $2 admission (10-11 a.m.)
- Culinary Arts Home Chili, Wings & Salsa Competition – Judged live at the Fair in the Exhibit Promenade, Fairgoers will see who’s the spiciest cook at the Fair (1 p.m.) Online pre-registration is due by Wednesday, July 25.
- Free Parking & Shuttle Service from the Experian parking structure located off the Bristol Street exit of the northbound I-405 and the Avenue of the Arts exit of the southbound I-405. Hours of operation: 10 a.m.-Midnight.

The 2012 OC Fair, themed Home Sweet Home, is July 13 – August 12 and will bring 23 days of food, rides, exhibits, animals, music, action sports and fun, as well as the Super Pass, Toyota Summer Concert Series at the Pacific Amphitheatre, The Hangar and Action Sports Arena. The Fair is open Wednesday-Sunday. Concert tickets, action sports reserved seats and single-day general admission are available for purchase online at ticketmaster.com or from the on-site Box Office. The popular Super Pass, which offers the passholder 23 days of admission, is available for purchase from any onsite box office or ticket booth.
