Nineteen neglected and sick dogs were removed from a home in the 2200 block of West 14th Street, in Santa Ana, on Tuesday morning by animal control officers after someone filed an anonymous complaint, according to the O.C. Register.
Santa Ana animal control officers discovered 22 dogs, including Chihuahuas, pugs, and terriers, all suffering from neglect. Nineteen of the pooches are in need of medical care. They are receiving treatment at the Orange County Animal Care, according to ABC News.
The ill pups were taken from the home of Auralia Arechiga, 47, according to NBC News.
Arechiga apparently claims she’s rescuing the dogs from Mexico and she brings them here and then she buys puppies in Riverside and sells the puppies for profit, according to the SAPD.
Three healthy dogs were allowed to stay with Arechiga, who now faces animal cruelty charges.
This incident happened in Santa Ana’s Ward 5, which is represented on the City Council by Councilman Roman Reyna.

Its so sad that the city and the SAPD are getting rid off of our Animal Control officers soon, good sources inform. If we go with the corrupt OC Animal Services we will get only one officer for the whole city. You will see packs of dogs roaming the streets like 20 years ago.....City of SA, ll about money, not services.....
