Santa Ana Public Library Welcomes Author: Gustavo Arellano

SANTA ANA, CA (November 29, 2012) – The Santa Ana Public Library is pleased to present award winning columnist and author, Gustavo Arellano who will discuss his new book, Taco USA: How Mexican Food Conquered America.

Arellano is the editor of the OC Weekly and writes the nationally syndicated column ¡Ask a Mexican!, which has a circulation of more than two million in thirty-eight markets (and counting). He has received the President’s Award from the Los Angeles Press Club, an Impact Award from the National Hispanic Media Coalition, and a 2008 Latino Spirit Award from the California State legislature. Arellano has appeared on the Today show, Nightline, NPR’s Talk of the Nation and The Colbert Report. Arellano is the author of two previous national bestseller books, ¡Ask a Mexican! and Orange County: A Personal History.

His new book, Taco USA presents an entertaining and tasty trip through the history and culture of Mexican food in this country, uncovering great stories and charting the cuisine’s tremendous popularity in the United States.

Celebrating the taco lifestyle, on December 6, 2012, Taco Maria and Soho Tacos will have tacos available for purchase on site at 6 p.m. followed by the author’s presentation at 7 p.m. and book signing between 8-8:30p.m. Arellano’s presentation and book signing will be held in Meeting Room A, located on the 2nd floor of the Santa Ana Public Library. Arellano will also have books for purchase.
