SAUSD Classified Employees of the Year

The Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) has announced their Classified Employees of the Year, as follows: Maintenance, Operations, and Facilities: Juan Guerrero – Plant Custodian at Community Day School; Office and Technical: Luis Prado – Computer Technician at Valley High School; Para-Educator and Instructional Assistance: Rosa Ramirez – Instructional Assistant Special Education at Diamond Elementary School; and Support Services and Security: Anne Le – Translator Interpreter for the English Learner Programs.

The SAUSD serves 56,000 students in 61 schools, with a budget of $499.7 million.  There are 1,715 classified employees at the SAUSD.

Here are a few more facts about the SAUSD:

  • SAUSD is the 6th largest school district in California, and the largest in Orange County.
  • Approximately 82% of SAUSD students are English learners. Spanish, Vietnamese and Khmer are the most common languages spoken at home.
  • Approximately 91% of SAUSD students participate in free or reduced-price meal programs.
